Department of Army, Mentor-Protégé Award

In a mentor-protégé program, an established, experienced prime federal contractor guides a newcomer, teaching the smaller company's officials how to build a federal business.

The Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program seeks to encourage DoD prime contractors to develop the technical and business capabilities of small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, and organizations that hire the severely handicapped, in order to enhance their contributions to the DoD and to other federal agencies. The program provides incentives for mentors to establish and implement a developmental plan that enables the protégé to compete more successfully for government prime contracts and subcontract awards.

AT&T Government Solutions, and DreamHammer have executed a Mentor-Protégé Agreement for the purpose of expanding DreamHammer's technical capabilities, infrastructure, and business base. The goal of this Mentor-Protégé relationship is to expand the business relationship and create an exceptional, preferred supplier of secure data integration, web development and modeling and simulation armed with cutting-edge technologies to the Army and DoD.

AT&T received the award to mentor its protégé, DreamHammer, in August 2004, to advance opportunities to specifically market DreamHammer's expertise in secure data integration, web development and modeling and simulation.
